On September 23, a national gathering of mothers will unite in the heartland of America and across the nation for the Mom’s March for America–a cultural march toward a higher standard of decency, civility, and liberty. The March will take place in Lincoln, Nebraska with speakers that include Sarah Palin, Candy Carson, wife of Dr. Ben Carson, and Missy Robertson of Duck Dynasty. “This is not a march walking down the street, shouting and carrying signs,” says Ellen Wheeler, communications director for the march. “This is a celebration of the biggest cultural movement happening in America – the march that mothers make every day in their homes, neighborhoods, and businesses as they nurture their families, influence their communities and shape our nation.”
Kimberly Fletcher, is the Executive director & event organizer of the Moms March for America. She is the wife of a retired Air Force officer, mother of 8 children and president and founder of Homemakers for America. She is also the author of “WOMEN: America’s Last Best Hope”, contributing writer with The Blaze and Townhall.com and radio host on Omaha’s The Answer a Salem Broadcasting station.
“The goal of the Moms March is to shine a light on the powerful influence of mothers on our nation and come together to raise the bar of decency, and stand for truth, family, freedom, and the constitution–which protects our divine rights as mothers,” says Fletcher. “We need to dispel the darkness. The only way to do that is to turn on the light! We invite women across the country to be a part of this national gathering of mothers as we embark on this adventure together, uniting our voices, encouraging, and supporting one another as we elevate the status of motherhood and shape the future of our culture and nation.”
“We have put together a Declaration of Mothers,” continued Fletcher, “ this Declaration is the standard and foundation for the Mom’s March. It is a proclamation to the nation telling our elected leaders, policy makers, and the media what we want to see upheld and promoted in our society, schools, government, and communities. Among the key articles of the Declaration are that Our Rights come from God not government and the Constitution of the United States was created under the inspiration of Almighty God to secure our inherent rights and the liberty for all people. We also recognize the sacred role of mother as the heart of the home and home as the heart of society.”
