In its 15th year of broadcast and with 18 stations reaching a potential audience of nearly 9 million people throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado, The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is positioning itself for the future. “We want to be where our audience is now and where they might be going in the future. We continue to be excited about the effect the broadcasts are having with those listening to our AM/FM stations but we have seen a dramatic increase in the numbers of those listening to our live streams via the internet and our app,” said Jim O’Laughlin, President and Founder of CRN.
O’Laughlin points to the recent addition to his team of David Vacheresse as Vice President and General Manager, as a big step in the direction of the expansion of both its’ audience and network content creation. “Dave brings a wealth of experience in the areas we want to concentrate on as we prepare ourselves to take full advantage of the exciting opportunities ahead with the new media platforms.” Vacheresse has served as President of Relevant Radio, and General Manager of both Immaculate Heart Radio and EWTN Radio. He began his career in Catholic Radio in 1993 with EWTN’s shortwave radio station, WEWN. Vacheresse said, “I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the tremendous effectiveness and growth of Catholic Radio for 25 years now.
Every Catholic radio station on the air has Mother Angelica to thank. As we go into this brave new world we stand on her shoulders and say with her, ‘God wants you to be in the world, but so different from the world that you will change it. Get cracking.” He added, “All of us at CRN are committed to our role in rallying the troops by every means possible.” A list of Catholic Radio Network stations can be found at www.catholicradionetwork.com.
