Popular Author and Speaker Mike Aquilina, Featured Speaker at CMN Trade Show Luncheon

Sponsored by Ave Maria Press, the annual CMN Trade Show Luncheon will take place Tuesday July 18, 2017 and feature the popular Catholic author and EWTN host Mike Aquilina.  He is the executive vice president of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology and has written many pivotal books on the subject of Catholicism and beyond.  His most recent book is A History of the Church in 100 Objects, published by Ave Maria Press.
Catholic News Agency comments, Aquilina “finds the sermon in the stuff, the theology expressed in the little things that the first Christians left behind — fading murals on catacomb walls, pottery and dishware, pieces of coinage, ancient hymns and Mass prayers, common household items … The point is that for Aquilina, the little things matter — because they tell us big things about what Catholics believe and how they look at the world.”  When Catholics tell their story, they don’t just write it in books. They preserve it in memorials, monuments, artifacts, and museums. They build grand basilicas to house tiny relics. This book offers a compelling look at the history of the Church through an examination of the relics, memorials, and artifacts that moved history, from the Cave of the Nativity to a simple union membership pen.  This work serves as a reminder that the history of the Church is not only spiritual, but also very physical and tangible, all told through Aquilina’s engaging style.
Aquilina is the author of over 50 books, and has for years been a collaborator to scholars, artists, and Church leaders, helping them to produce books, speeches, and essays.  He has appeared on multiple programs on EWTN, both as host and as guest. He leads pilgrimages to the Holy Land, published hundreds of articles, and is a poet and songwriter.
The CMN Annual International Trade Show will take place July 18-21, 2017 at the Schaumburg Convention Center located a few minutes from O’Hare International airport in Chicago, Il.
