Renowned author and speaker Denise Bossert has accepted the position of Acquisitions Editor at Liguori Publications. “I am delighted that Denise is joining our team,” said Fr. Byron Miller, President, and Publisher. “She has in-depth knowledge of the Catholic faith and the sacraments, which she demonstrated as editor of Liguori’s updated Journey of Faith for Adults RCIA program.” After many years of collaboration, Bossert looks forward to her new position at Liguori, especially working on updating the sacramental preparation materials. After many years of collaboration, Bossert looks forward to her new position at Liguori, especially working on updating the sacramental preparation materials. “My first degree was in education, and I’ve taught Confirmation courses and fifth-grade and high school catechesis so that marries very well with working on the sacramental prep products,” said Bossert. “God works in such wonderful ways and it seems like he’s taken the myriad of experiences I’ve had in my life, and He’s bringing them all to the table with this opportunity.”
Through her new position, Bossert will continue to put the mission of spreading God’s Word at the forefront of her actions as she has done as a speaker, writer, and teacher. “I really embrace the mission of Liguori, which is spreading the Good News to the people that don’t necessarily view it as good news,” said Bossert. Bossert will collaborate with Mary Wuertz von Holt, Director of Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, and other members of the product team to create, develop and deliver sacramental programs and spiritual titles in support of the mission of the Redemptorist priests and brothers. “As an author herself,” said Wuertz von Holt, “Denise has many contacts in Catholic publishing and she works well with authors to bring out their best work. In addition, she has the pastoral voice for which Liguori is known, as demonstrated in her most recent work, Stations of the Cross for a Wounded World.”
The daughter of a Protestant minister, Bossert converted to Catholicism in 2005 after reading books by Carmelite saints. Her syndicated column, Catholic by Grace, has been published in more than sixty diocesan newspapers. She has written for Catholic magazines and appeared on numerous EWTN programs, including Journey Home and Women of Grace. Bossert is a faith-travel writer and visited the Holy Land many times. Ave Maria Press released her first book—Gifts of the Visitation—in 2015. She speaks on topics that include conversion, the Immaculate Conception, the visitation, women in salvation history, and overcoming post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
